Marketing and Social Media Intern

CHALLENGE: Revamp and manage Digital Marketing strategy; including Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Paid Advertising, blog writing, and management of external customer facing sites.
PROCESS:
• Builds social media calendar, creates content, and manages social media platforms.
• Brainstorm, execute, and measure success of new content ideas for social media, website, and emails.
• Establish and manage online advertising and promotion budget.
• Create internal marketing documents for social media systems and processes, and How-To Guides for future employers.

RESULTS:
• 147.89% increase in monthly sessions referred from Facebook (176 vs 71).
• 32.43% increase in monthly sessions referred from Pinterest (98 vs 74).
• Revamped Pinterest and responsible for 50% of all traffic coming to the site within the first month.
• 87.88% increase in Instagram monthly sessions (62 vs 33).
• 25% increase in monthly sessions referred from Twitter (10 vs 8).
• Wrote blogs based on analytics and brought in over 1700 sessions. 
• Created newsletters and email blasts to over 600 recipients, achieving and maintaining an average 29.5% open rate and 4.25% click through rate.
Working in a small business, it's easy to see the return of work that's put in (or lack thereof), but Katie's work was evident. As an intern, Katie added so much value that she created a vital position for herself in the company. I worked alongside Katie on the website and watched her go from knowing nothing about SEO to becoming a total wizard and replacing the company we hired for SEO/ Digital Services.
